Job description
Key Responsibilities and Specific Accountabilities
  • Endorse all Civil Engineering deliverables produced by the designers and contractors to ensure that all technical designs and specifications from contractors are reviewed and in alignment with the client’s specific requirements.
  • Review and provide inputs/comments on other discipline drawings and documents.
  • Collaborate with the project team to ensure quality and achievement of milestones associated with the delivery process. Active participation in the various design reviews, workshops and optimization studies.
  • Ensure the application of correct standards in the delivery of projects.
  • Respond to technical queries during the Contractor tender periods. Review and Input during the tender evaluation for the selection of Contractors.
  • Attend site inspection and provide site report.
  • Provide periodical reports that reinforce activities that are being constructed in conformance with each specific project's established standard and constructively confronts non-conformances to produce the desired outcome in a timely manner.
  • Forecast trends, anticipate potential problems and difficulties meeting milestones or budget. Alert management on significant deviations from the set objectives and recommend solutions.
  • Provide clarifications, technical inputs for the Contractor queries & requests.
  • Provide review and input to resolve the technical issues, and change orders raised by the Contractor.
  • Review Contractor's material proposals against specified technical performance requirements and advise the Manager on the appropriateness of the proposals. Check the documentation of all materials received for the project, verify that they are in conformance with the approved submittal, are handled and stored appropriately, and are acceptable for use in the project.
  • Attend preconstruction meetings with contractors and the PCM team (if any) prior to the start of each new phase of the work to discuss issues that affect quality.
  • Conduct preparatory, initial and follow-up meetings to establish an understanding of the standards of care desired for each definable feature of work.
  • Chair and document weekly quality control meetings for Civil engineering works and provide written minutes.
  • Assist in the coordination and documentation of the testing and commissioning of all Architectural systems as part of site closeout procedure.
  • Assist in assembling and forwarding project closeout documents that include O&M manuals and as-built.
  • Deal with local authorities for data collection and approvals, where required.
