Job Overview

The Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring a safe, compliant, and well-prepared environment across a large‑scale hospitality venue comprising five restaurants, outdoor spaces, attractions, and high‑footfall areas.

Responsibilities
  • Health, Safety & Environment (HSE): develop, implement, and enforce HSE policies and procedures across all restaurants, kitchens, outdoor areas, entertainment zones, and back‑of‑house spaces.
  • Conduct daily safety inspections and scheduled audits of kitchens and food prep areas, gas, electrical, and mechanical systems, dining areas, outdoor walkways, stages, attractions, fire exits, emergency lighting, and signage; ensure compliance with local civil defense, municipality, labor law, and food safety regulations.
  • Fire Safety & Emergency Preparedness: act as the Fire & Life Safety focal point for the entire venue; ensure fire alarms, sprinklers, extinguishers, and suppression systems are functional and inspected; maintain clearly marked evacuation routes; lead and document fire drills, evacuation simulations, and emergency response training; coordinate directly with Civil Defense, ambulance services, and emergency responders.
  • Crowd Safety & Risk Management: monitor and assess crowd density and flow during peak hours and events; work with Operations and Security to control capacity limits, manage queues, entry/exit points, and bottlenecks; ensure safe movement during events, concerts, or promotions; conduct risk assessments for events, live entertainment, and seasonal activations.
  • Staff Training & Awareness: conduct mandatory safety inductions for all new employees; deliver ongoing training on emergency response, fire safety, first aid & incident reporting, slip, trip, and fall prevention; act as a safety ambassador promoting a proactive safety culture across all departments.
  • Incident Management & Reporting: lead investigations into accidents, near misses, guest or staff injuries, and property damage incidents; prepare incident reports, corrective action plans, and root cause analyses; maintain safety records, inspection logs, and compliance documentation.
  • Contractor & Vendor Safety: ensure all contractors and suppliers comply with venue HSE standards; review method statements, risk assessments, and permits to work (hot works, working at height, electrical, etc.); monitor contractor activities on‑site.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Mandatory Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health, Engineering, or a related field.
  • NEBOSH IGC / IOSH / OSHA certification (NEBOSH strongly preferred).
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in large hospitality venues, theme parks, entertainment complexes, malls, or large F&B operations.
  • Strong knowledge of fire safety systems, evacuation planning, and crowd management.
  • First Aid & CPR certification preferred.
  • Civil Defense / Fire Safety certification (KSA or GCC) preferred.
  • Experience working with multiple outlets and high guest volumes.
  • Arabic language skills an advantage.
