Job summary

Job description
Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Maintenance & Overhaul: Perform disassembly, troubleshooting, component repair, and high-precision reassembly of core drilling drive components, including but not limited to Mud Pumps, Rotary Tables, Crown Blocks, Traveling Blocks, Drawworks, and Swivels.
  • Quality Control & Documentation: Strictly adhere to maintenance standard operating procedures (SOPs). Responsible for measuring and documenting critical technical nodes, such as fit tolerances, NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) results, and trial run performance data.
  • Workshop & Inventory Management: Oversee the daily maintenance and calibration of specialized workshop tools and gauges. Maintain a dynamic inventory of spare parts and optimize procurement plans for consumables to ensure uninterrupted maintenance operations.
  • Technical Improvement & Mentorship: Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for mechanical failures, propose corrective actions for recurring issues, and provide hands‑on technical guidance and training to junior technicians.

  • Education: Diploma or above in Mechanical Manufacturing, Mechatronics, or a related engineering field.
  • Core Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands‑on experience in maintaining drive components for onshore or offshore drilling rigs. Expertise in the deep maintenance of Mud Pump fluid/power ends and Drawworks braking systems is essential.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficient in interference fit assembly techniques, including shrink-fitting (thermal expansion/cryogenic contraction).
  • Skilled in manual arc welding or gas welding (Valid Welder Certificate preferred).
  • Expertise in using precision measuring instruments (e.g., outside micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators).
  • Standards & Compliance: Familiar with API Spec 4F, 7K, and 8C standards. Ability to interpret complex engineering blueprints and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Competencies: Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to handle complex mechanical failures independently. High sense of responsibility, teamwork‑oriented, and adaptable to workshop or rig‑site environments.
