Job description

The Quality and Governance Specialist ensure maintaining high standards of quality, compliance and governance within KAUST Health. This role involves developing and overseeing clinical quality assurance initiatives and framework, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards, and working across departments to promote best practices and maintain accreditation.

The Specialist provides knowledge and guidance to KAUST Health and helps maintain the oversight of the medical services provider, ensuring that all necessary paperwork and records are kept in compliance with regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support in developing quality and governance frameworks, policies, and procedures that align with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Support in conducting regular audits and performance assessments to ensure adherence to quality and governance goals. Use findings to drive continuous improvement.
  • Analyze data and trends to pinpoint non-compliance issues or potential risks and execute actionable plans to mitigate identified concerns.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements. Provide support and monitor the preparation and compliance of the JCI, CBAHI and or any accreditation standards and extends the professional assistance to help the various departments to implement it.
  • Support KAUST HR and Graduate Affairs with the processing of medical fit for relocation applications.
  • Work closely with the KAUST Occupational Health Specialist on any Occupational Health matters.
  • Assisting the department in the overall quality assurance and governance of health services at KAUST Health. To oversee the activities of the department in the areas of:
  • Clinical Quality Assurance - participating in patient safety programs, completing patient safety walks and safety culture surveys.
  • Support in quality KPI audit and validation.
  • Understand The KAUST School health office role and the nursing team function and the Health Office, located in TKS premises and provide support and guidance as per needs.
  • Understand the Medical referral committee process and support when assigned including facilitating approvals and organizing accommodation for high-risk pregnancies and other health patients.
  • Offering guidance to development personnel performing investigations and root cause analysis by applying expertise in quality concepts and methodologies.
  • Maintains relationship with patients by maintaining strong open communication channels.
  • Monitoring the Occurrence Variance Report process.
  • Be aware of the current medical equipment/instruments and provide recommendations to KH Operations team.
  • Any other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the Quality and Governance Manager.

Requirements

  • Graduation from accredited school of nursing or having bachelor's degree in medical specialty or other related.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in quality assurance, governance, or a related function.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience ideally including 3 years in quality and governance in a healthcare setting, preferably in Saudi Arabia.
  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, CBAHI) and governance frameworks.
  • Proven experience in conducting audits and risk assessments.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess complex data.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high standards.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
