Job description

We are seeking a talented and experienced Pastry Chef with specialized expertise in Oriental and Middle Eastern desserts and pastries. The ideal candidate will bring a modern twist to classic favorites.

SIHAMCO is a strategic partner operating proudly under the General Entertainment Authority (GEA), National Events Center (NEC), Riyadh Season and Jeddah Season since 2019.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare, bake, and present a variety of Middle Eastern and Oriental pastries and desserts (e.g., baklava, kunafa, maamoul, basbousa, qatayef, Turkish delights, halva, etc.).
  • Ensure consistency in taste, quality, and presentation.
  • Develop new dessert offerings inspired by traditional flavors with seasonal and innovative twists.
  • Manage pastry kitchen operations, including inventory control, cost management, and hygiene standards.
  • Supervise and train junior kitchen staff and pastry assistants.
  • Maintain proper storage of ingredients and ensure compliance with food safety standards.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef and F&B team to plan dessert menus for à la carte service, events, and catering functions.
  • Ensure all production is completed in a timely manner, meeting service deadlines.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or Dessert Chef specializing in Middle Eastern and Oriental desserts.
  • Formal culinary/pastry training is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of regional ingredients, spices, and techniques (e.g., use of rose water, orange blossom, semolina, phyllo dough, etc.).
  • Creativity and passion for pastry arts.
  • Excellent attention to detail and presentation.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced kitchen environment.
  • Knowledge of kitchen hygiene and food safety regulations (HACCP).
Preferred Experience
  • 6+ years of experience in pastry kitchens or high‑end restaurants specializing in Middle Eastern cuisine.
  • Experience working in luxury hotels, resorts, fine dining, or upscale catering services is a plus.
  • Multilingual (English, Arabic, Turkish, or Farsi) is an advantage but not required.
