Job Purpose / Objective
Under the supervision of Nuclear Medicine Consultant/ Specialist review patient history, prepare and administering radioactive substances, operate equipment to detect radioactivity and ensure safety of patients, staff and visitors.
Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities
- Prepare and administer proper dose of radiopharmaceuticals for patients, by injection or inhalation in consultation with Physician.
- Determine and prepare the equipment and supplies required for an examination or procedure.
- Maintain patient's confidence by obtaining pertinent history, describing the procedure and answering any questions.
- Perform patient imaging procedures using sophisticated radiation-detecting instrumentation.
- Accomplish computer processing and image enhancement and analyze biologic specimens.
- Provide highly quality images, data analysis, and patient information to the physician for diagnostic interpretation in the desired site format.
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic imaging examinations of appropriate in accordance with accepted standards of practice and protocols.
- Maintain patient care, comfort, safety and confidentiality during and or after the exam.
- Communicate effectively with patients and imaging team and maintains a clean working environment.
- Perform equipment quality checks and troubleshoots problems. Call for service and notifies all pertinent team members. Maintains a service record and coordinates servicing/QA around imaging a patient
- Comply with all safety policies and regulations including radiation safety.
- Decontaminate in case of any spill/contaminated patient under the supervision of physician and maintain record of all spillage procedures conducted.
- Monitor the patient's physical condition during the course of the procedure and note any specific patient comments which might indicate the need for additional images or might be useful to the physician in interpreting the results of the procedure.
- Participates in, and lead person-centered care initiatives undertaken by HMG.
- Enriches patient experience with compassion, respect and dignity.
- Perform any other task and duties appropriate to his/ her realm of knowledge, skills and experience as required.
Education / Professional Qualification
- Education : Bachelor’s Degree
- Professional : Nuclear Medicine Technology
Experience
- At least ( 1 - 2 ) years of relevant experience.
Professional Licensing / Certification / Training
- Certification : BLS and relevant certification
- Licensing : Valid Saudi Council
