Job summary

A healthcare facility in Jeddah is seeking a Medical Records professional to create and maintain patient medical records. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of experience in a large teaching hospital's Medical Records Department, with required training in computer systems and preferred knowledge of ICD coding. Fluency in both English and Arabic (verbally and written) is mandatory. The role involves ensuring accurate data entry, processing medical records requests, and translating documents between languages.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years experience in a Medical Records Department of a large teaching hospital.
  • Formal training in computer is required.
  • Experience with ICD coding is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain patient medical records.
  • Ensure accurate and timely entry of patient data.
  • Verify correctness of patient information and treatment codes.
  • Process requests for medical records adhering to privacy and security regulations.
  • Organize and file medical records for easy retrieval.
  • Work closely with healthcare providers to update patient information.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
  1. Creates, maintains, and updates patient medical records, including medical history, treatment plans, test results, and other pertinent information, using electronic health record systems or paper-based filing methods.
  2. Ensures the accurate and timely entry of patient data into the system.
  3. Verifies the correctness of patient information, treatment codes, and other relevant data to prevent errors and discrepancies.
  4. Processes requests for medical records from authorized individuals or entities, adhering to privacy and security regulations.
  5. Organizes and files medical records in a systematic manner, ensuring easy retrieval and accessibility for healthcare providers and authorized personnel.
  6. Works closely with healthcare providers and administrative staff to retrieve and update patient information promptly and efficiently.
  7. Uploads medical reports, checkups result, sick-leaves and authenticates it on MOH platforms in the approved time frame.
  8. Offers guidance and support in maintaining accurate records.
  9. Translates all reports from English to Arabic and vice versa.
Job Requirements
Experience
  • 1-2 years experience in a Medical Records Department of a large teaching hospital with large inpatient and outpatient volume.
Education
  • College level and formal training in computer required - training in ICD coding is preferred.
Language
  • Fluency in English and Arabic (verbal and written)
