Job summary

An international engineering company in Saudi Arabia is seeking a Commissioning Lead to oversee process and conceptual designs through to project completion. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of experience in EPC projects, particularly within the Oil/Gas sector, and demonstrate a strong technical background in commissioning operations. Proficiency in English and experience leading teams is essential. The role involves preparing schedules, leading engineers and providing progress reports.

Overview

Lead process and conceptual designs (feed package) during the proposal stage up to financial close and ensure that the feed package is carried over into successful Projects after award, also responsible for commissioning and start-up activities, by bringing in the process to the back end of the Project, during commissioning, performance testing and initial start-up to ensure that the feed design has been incorporated into the Project and complies with the process philosophy.

Responsibilities

• Utilizing the master commissioning document library for creation of project specific inspection checklists and test procedures under the guidance of the department section head.
• Arrange the commissioning time schedule with respect to the project overall time frame and coordinating with other departments to meet deadlines.
• Lead and direct a team of engineers,technicians and foremen, and assign the commissioning activities in the project.
• Review and submit the red line drawings to the engineering department.
• Prepares the commissioning progress reports and feedbacks to the project management and to the department section head.
• Generating a categorized punch list and a list for the area of concerns of the project.
• Preparing handing over the commissioned systems to the operation team.
• Submit lesson learned in the project during the testing activities.

Qualifications

• A recognized Degree in an Engineering or Scientific discipline from an accredited College or University or a professional license in an Engineering discipline or a sufficient number of specialized courses in relevant general Engineering or an appropriate Engineering discipline to meet the job requirements.
• +8 years of work experience in the related field
• Solid background and expertise on EPC Projects, specifically on Oil/Gas, Utility and/or Infrastructure type Projects. (No one have experience of Oil and gas)
• Technical knowledge of start-up operations, maintenance, and/or testing, including the development of commissioning and start-up manuals and associated method statements
• Knowledge of engineering systems and calculations, applications of both engineering and start-up methods, coupled with knowledge of computer applications related to the close out and resolution of engineering problems
• Knowledge of latest developments in the related field
• A good knowledge in principles and practices of related areas
• A broad knowledge of industry and regulatory standards and criteria pertinent to start-up, maintenance, operations, or testing
• Aware with testing tools, test procedures and all types of relay software.
• Broad progressive work experience to the degree necessary to perform the responsibilities outlined above aligned with commissioning, initial start-up and operation activities or other relevant experience in design engineering, construction, field engineering or plant operation in industrial, process, or marine facilities
• Excellent in English ( writing and speaking )
