Job summary

A construction material testing company in Dammam is seeking a qualified candidate to perform independent tests on construction materials including soil and concrete. The role requires a minimum of two years of experience, good communication skills in English, and flexibility in work hours. A Saudi driver's license is preferred and Aramco approval is a plus.

Job description
Overview

The ideal candidate will have a valid driver's license for the region and a minimum of two years of experience in construction material testing, either with a commercial testing house or a contractor.

Duties include, but aren’t limited to:

  • Performing independent testing on soil, concrete, aggregate, and asphalt using various international standards (ASTM/BS/BSEN/AASHTO).
  • Conducting field density tests (ASTM/BS/AASHTO) without supervision.
  • Working at on-site labs as required.
  • Sampling concrete, soil, aggregates, and asphalt according to BS, ASTM, AASHTO, BSEN, or other regional/in-house procedures.
  • Conducting fresh concrete testing independently, following ASTM, BS, and BSEN standards.
  • Receiving samples and issuing reports to/from relevant entities.
  • Participating in site/field testing in compliance with various international standards or in-house procedures.
  • Ensuring all work complies with ISO 17025 requirements.
  • Coordinating with other team members to follow the planned work schedule.
  • Manually handling samples.
  • Performing general maintenance, cleaning, and equipment checks.
  • Adhering to all Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards.
  • Interacting with clients during witnessed testing.
  • Generating client test reports, including data entry and quality assurance.
  • Ensuring compliance with Element's quality standards.
  • Driving to customer sites to collect samples and/or conduct daily testing at their labs.
  • Assisting the department manager with other tasks as needed to help the team meet annual targets and budgets.
Skills

Abilities and Attributes

  • A diploma or degree in Science or Civil Engineering is required.
  • The candidate must be able to work well in a team, manage pressure, and be flexible with work hours (day/night shifts).
  • A Saudi driver's license is preferable.
  • Good communication skills in English are essential (reading, writing, and speaking).
  • Aramco approval is a plus.
  • Knowledge of and experience with the safe operation of construction material testing equipment within an independent, construction, or consultant laboratory environment.
