Your day at NTT DATA

The Information Security Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) Specialist is a seasoned subject matter expert, responsible for supporting the organization's information security program by assessing risks, implementing security controls, ensuring compliance, managing security awareness initiatives, and contributing to policy development. This role collaborates with internal teams to enhance security practices and maintain a strong security posture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Objective Definition: The IT Governance Specialist determines the objectives for IT. These objectives define the purpose of IT and describe how it will be fulfilled. They should be included in any IT vision or mission statements and implemented using a strategic IT plan.
  • Governance Framework Design: The specialist designs and implements the IT governance framework. This framework includes governance principles, policies, IT governance roles and responsibilities, and processes. It must align with the organization’s wider governance responsibilities and support the achievement of the company’s goals and strategic objectives.
  • Risk Management: Managing risks related to IT systems is a critical aspect. The specialist identifies potential risks, assesses their impact, and develops strategies to mitigate them. This includes ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Policy Development: Developing and implementing IT policies is essential. These policies guide IT practices, security measures, and compliance requirements. The specialist ensures that policies are well‑communicated and followed across the organization.
  • Data Governance: In some cases, an IT Governance Specialist may also be involved in data governance. This includes defining data quality standards, ensuring data integrity, and coordinating with data stewards and other stakeholders.
  • Efficiency and Security Optimization: Maximizing the efficiency and security of a company’s IT infrastructure is a core responsibility. The specialist collaborates with various teams to achieve this goal.
Qualifications
Education

A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Information Technology, Computer Science, or Business Administration is often required.

Preferred Certifications
  • Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC).
  • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).
  • ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library).
Experience
  • Typically, 3-5 years of relevant work experience in IT governance, risk management, or related fields.
  • Experience with IT policies, compliance, and audit processes is valuable.
