Job description

Overview

The Infrastructure Specialist designs, installs, configures, tests, monitors, supports, and troubleshoots Local and Wide Area Networks. Administers and manages Cisco routers, switches, ASA appliances and F5 load balancers. Performs router/switch network hardware/software upgrades. Provides IP Addressing Strategy - NAT, Re-Addressing. Performs WAN - IP Routed Network Integration. Prepares work orders containing instructions to be used by technicians to configure network hardware and software. Performs diagnostic analysis of the network system, identify possible faulty devices, troubleshoot faulty modules, troubleshoot network problems and outages and prepare necessary documentation detailing actions taken. Works with customer technical teams to provide solutions for customers' internetworking communications requirements.

Job Responsibilities

• System Administration:
  • Upgrading, installing, configuring, and maintaining server systems infrastructure.
  • Managing Active Directory, including user accounts, permissions, and group policies.
  • Monitoring and optimizing performance, capacity, and availability of systems.
  • Performing regular system updates, patch management, and backups.
• Inventory and Asset Management:
  • Maintaining inventory of physical servers, virtual servers, and IT appliances.
  • Ensuring all assets are documented and tracked for lifecycle management.
• Security & Compliance:
  • Implementing and maintaining IT security policies and procedures.
  • Conducting security audits, vulnerability assessments, and risk analysis.
  • Ensuring systems are compliant with relevant standards.
• User Support:
  • Providing support for internal users, including troubleshooting server, software.
  • Managing service requests and incidents, resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Creating and maintaining documentation for system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting guides.
• Cloud & Virtualization:
  • Supporting cloud-based services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Office 365).
  • Managing and monitoring virtual environments.
  • Provisioning, configuring, and managing cloud and virtual resources.
• Backup & Disaster Recovery:
  • Implementing and maintaining backup solutions for critical systems and data.
  • Developing and maintaining disaster recovery plans and procedures.

Education

Bachelor's degree or higher in Information Technology or related discipline required. Master's degree or higher preferred.

Certification & License

Microsoft Networking, Telecommunication, or Cisco Certifications preferred.

Work Experience

5 years of experience supporting Local and Wide Area Networks required.
