Overview
You will be responsible for the efficient running of the department in line with Hyatt International's Corporate Strategies and brand standards, whilst meeting employee, guest and owner expectations. The Head Mixologist is responsible for leading the beverage program, crafting innovative cocktails, and delivering exceptional guest experiences. This role involves managing the bar team, ensuring operational efficiency, maintaining high-quality standards, and staying ahead of industry trends.
Responsibilities
- Lead the beverage program, craft innovative cocktails, and deliver exceptional guest experiences.
- Manage the bar team, ensuring operational efficiency and high-quality standards.
- Maintain adherence to health and safety standards; oversee daily bar operations.
- Oversee inventory management including ordering, receiving, stock rotation, and supplier coordination.
- Ensure all equipment is maintained and functioning properly.
- Recruit, train, and mentor bar staff to deliver exceptional service and maintain consistency.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment; conduct regular staff meetings.
- Engage with guests to provide a personalized experience; address inquiries and resolve complaints promptly and professionally.
- Promote special events, tastings, and promotions to enhance guest engagement.
- Monitor bar revenue and costs to meet financial targets; develop pricing strategies to maximize profitability.
- Analyze sales data to identify trends and opportunities for growth.
- Stay informed about industry trends, new techniques, and emerging ingredients; experiment with new concepts to maintain a competitive edge.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a mixologist, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership role.
- Extensive knowledge of cocktails, non-alcoholic spirits, wine, and beer.
- Strong creativity and ability to innovate in drink design.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in inventory management and bar operations software.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Certification in bartending or mixology is preferred.
- May require standing for long periods, lifting heavy objects, and working late hours.
