A leading energy contractor is looking for a Commissioning Electrical Supervisor to oversee electrical commissioning work in Al Jubail, Saudi Arabia. The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in engineering and at least 8 years of relevant experience in safety roles, particularly within the oil and gas construction sector. Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Keep records of all activities performed in the logbook.
  • Supervise activities of electrical substation power on and ensure safety protocols are followed.
  • Prepare and sign off all relevant certificates.

Hours/rotation:

Rotation of 60 days on site and 10 days off (paid) & 2 days traveling (paid). 10 hours per day (including 1 hour break)

Job summary/Role description:
  • He executes the activities pertaining to his discipline in compliance with the quality requirements, health/environmental/safety regulations and following the stated procedures.
  • He reports to the Commissioning Electrical Superintendent (CET)
  • He is assigned to the Project by AVIMP Head of Department.
Duties and responsibilities:
  • To develop the detailed pre-commissioning procedures for Electrical Items & Packages, procedures for the functional tests of the electrical Items according to the instructions of Commissioning Electrical Superintendent.
  • To field check the DAC and prepare relevant Commissioning punch list, following the CME instructions.
  • Follow up of activities according to the schedule and by applying the procedures and safety rules.
  • To organize and manage the operations in field of the assigned team from the Subcontractor by controlling their job and the implementation of Plant Safety procedures in case of emergency.
  • To keep records of all activities performed in the logbook for the purpose of monitoring the progress achieved and apply necessary recovery actions.
  • To supervise the activities of electrical substation power on and motor run in field. Ensure the application of the TAG-OUT/LOCK OUT.
  • Support the Vendors specialists in the execution of the job and coordinate their actions with the Commissioning supervisors.
  • Supervise the works of vendors' specialists and ensure their efficient utilization.
  • During the execution of the interlocks, logic and sequence test, check in MCC that all the actions required or actuated from the board operator are properly performed.
  • Carry out operation of the starters as per the approved work permit request
  • To ensure that all the activities are witnessed by the Client, prepare and sign off all relevant certificates and hand over to certification engineer.
  • Can be the authorized person designated by the site manager to receive or issue a Permit.
  • Work according to the project Permit to Work Procedure.
  • In charge for:
  • Expediting of pending Punch List Items in accordance with Commissioning Superintendent (COT) priorities.
Knowledge & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in a safety-related role, preferably within the construction or oil and gas industry.
  • Relevant experience in 3 major EPC projects; oil & gas, petrochemical sector.
