Job summary

A leading company in Saudi Arabia is seeking an Aviation Safety and Occupational Health Specialist to oversee safety operations for onsite personnel. The role involves conducting risk assessments, mentoring local counterparts, and ensuring compliance with military safety regulations. Candidates must have extensive experience in military aviation safety and a Bachelor's degree.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in military aviation safety.
  • At least 5 years as a designated aviation safety officer.

Job description

Responsible for serving as the Aviation Safety and Occupational Health Specialist for the Contractor's onsite personnel within the assigned Brigade. Responsible for a wide variety of high-risk operations, facilities, and environmental conditions associated with Aviation Training, Maintenance, and Operational activities. Mentors MNG counterparts in developing and sustaining a functional Aviation and Ground Safety program in accordance with U.S. Army and MNG-AVN publications. Promotes and advocates the overall safety program of the Director Brigade Flight Training and GDC GM in all operational aspects supporting Rotary Wing Operations. Provides oversight and conducts inspections of Maintenance, Flight Operations, Training Operations, and Support Operations to ensure a safe environment for employees and customers. Conducts Risk Assessments and analysis to reduce risks in aviation operations, including maintenance, training, gunnery, and environmental activities (desert and over-water). Performs duties as required by the Director Brigade Flight Training.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • Graduate of a Military Aviation Safety course
  • HAZMAT Course graduate preferred
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in military aviation safety or related corporate fields, with at least 5 years as a designated aviation safety officer
  • Expert knowledge of military safety regulations and best practices
  • Ability to read and apply local regulations to daily operations
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English

Demonstrated ability to lead a team of subordinate experts.

Additional Requirements:

  • Successful completion of all mandatory medical examinations required for employment
  • Clean criminal record with no prior convictions, as per Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs requirements for a Saudi Work Visa
  • Pass a drug test; adherence to periodic random drug and alcohol testing policies
  • Compliance with Saudi Labor Law throughout employment
