About the job

The Accounting Sr. Analyst is responsible for supporting the accounts receivable function by accurately invoicing customers, processing and applying customer payments, managing collections, reconciling customer accounts, and providing financial information to management. The role collaborates with internal stakeholders and strives for continuous improvement in accounts receivable processes and is expected to demonstrate attention to detail, accuracy, and strong organizational skills to effectively manage invoicing, payment processing, collections, customer communication, account reconciliation, financial reporting, compliance, and process improvement.

Responsibilities:
  1. Invoicing and Billing: Generating and issuing accurate and timely invoices to customers based on sales orders, contracts, or service agreements.
  2. Payment Processing: Recording and applying customer payments accurately and promptly, ensuring proper allocation to customer accounts.
  3. Collections and Follow-up: Monitoring and following up on overdue customer payments, sending reminders, and initiating collection efforts to ensure timely receipt of outstanding payments.
  4. Customer Account Reconciliation: Reconciling customer accounts, resolving discrepancies, and addressing any billing or payment issues raised by customers.
  5. Cash Application: Applying customer payments to the appropriate customer accounts in the accounting system, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
  6. Credit Control: Assessing and monitoring customer creditworthiness, setting credit limits, and managing credit terms to minimize bad debt risk.
  7. Customer Communication: Responding to customer inquiries, resolving billing disputes, and providing excellent customer service related to accounts receivable matters.
  8. Aging Analysis: Analyzing and reporting on the aging of customer receivables, identifying and addressing any potential collection issues or risks.
  9. Financial Reporting: Assisting in the preparation of accounts receivable reports and analysis, providing accurate and timely financial information to management.
  10. Compliance and Controls: Ensuring compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures related to accounts receivable processes. This includes maintaining proper documentation, adhering to credit and collection policies, and supporting internal and external audits.
  11. Collaboration: Collaborating with internal stakeholders, such as sales, customer service, and finance teams, to resolve customer-related issues and improve accounts receivable processes.
  12. Process Improvement: Identifying opportunities for process improvements, automation, and efficiency enhancements within the accounts receivable function.
Minimum qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field is required
  2. +2 years of relevant work experience in accounts receivable, accounting, finance, or related roles.
