Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with expertise in Mechanical Engineer to design switchgear and switchboards for low and medium voltage applications. This individual will have the requisite certifications to legally stamp mechanical drawings. The ideal candidate will have expertise in SolidWorks and AutoCAD, along with experience in applicable electrical and building codes. You will work closely with electrical engineers, manufacturing teams, and project managers to create robust, efficient, and compliant designs.

Key Responsibilities

• Design mechanical components and assemblies for switchgear and switchboard systems used in low and medium voltage applications.
• Develop detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Ensure designs meet all applicable electrical and building codes and UL standards.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers to integrate mechanical and electrical systems effectively.
• Conduct design reviews, structural analyses, and simulations to ensure durability and performance.
• Support manufacturing and assembly processes, including troubleshooting and optimization.
• Maintain compliance with industry standards (e.g., NEMA, ANSI) and incorporate best practices in design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience designing switchgear and switchboards for low and medium voltage systems.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modeling and AutoCAD for 2D drafting.
• Experience with UL standards and preparing UL files for certification.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
