A multinational trade consultancy is seeking a Trade & Customs Analyst in Baja California Sur, Mexico. The role involves supporting import/export operations and ensuring compliance with US Customs and international trade laws. Ideal candidates have 3+ years of experience and a strong understanding of supply chain logistics. Excellent communication and organizational skills are necessary. The position offers opportunities for strategic cost-saving initiatives and professional growth.

Formación

  • Ability to complete tasks with minimal direction and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Detailed understanding of supply chain logistics including air, ocean, truck & rail.
  • Experience interacting with US Customs, FDA, USDA, and other agencies.

Overview

Trade & Customs Analyst position provides advanced support to the International Customs and Trade Regulations (CTR) operations. Proactively coordinates and monitors import/export compliance with US international trade, customs and other government agency laws and regulations to minimize the risk of penalty and fines due to non-compliance for all Client entities.

Responsibilities
  • Provide support to the Trade Regulations Team for day to day import / export operations and compliance with international trade, customs, and other government agency regulations.
  • Assist with identification, qualification, implementation and operation of strategic cost savings initiatives such as foreign trade zones, duty drawback, free trade agreements, duty suspension regimes, etc.
  • Coordinate review and update all internal procedures and help develop associated training modules. Manage responses to official government requests.
  • Follows Client’s high ethical standards and code of conduct.
Qualifications
  • Self-starter with ability to complete tasks with minimal direction from manager and/or supervisor. Must have the ability to prioritize multiple projects/workflow and handle time efficiently in order to meet established timelines.
  • Knowledge and experience of import/export operations for multinational company.
  • Detailed understanding of supply chain logistics including air, ocean, truck & rail, as well as, knowledge and experience with warehousing, distribution, supplier and inventory management.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Word), Internet, CROSS and Customs Info.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good written and verbal communication ability.
Education and Experience
  • 3+ years of U.S. international trade compliance experience with a good understanding of core trade principles such as product valuation, tariff classification, C-TPAT, ISA and special trade programs.
  • Experience and Interaction with US Customs, FDA, USDA and other government agencies.
