Formación

Lead Software Test Engineer – API & Automation

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Software Test Engineer to join our team. This critical role involves driving quality assurance for large-scale systems, leading API testing initiatives, and mentoring a team of engineers. You will work in an Agile environment, ensuring robust test automation and data validation processes to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement data validation tests based on business requirements within an Agile Software Delivery methodology.
• Perform risk assessments on identified defects and set appropriate priority and severity levels.
• Provide a holistic assessment of data quality for existing implementations and new feature development.
• Develop and enhance testing and defect remediation processes.
• Lead a team of Software Test Engineers focused on API testing activities.
• Mentor team members on:
  • Test Automation Standards and Unified Test Framework.
  • Application behavior and testing techniques.
  • Efficient testing strategies and scenario prioritization.

Required Skills & Experience

• Technical Expertise
  • Strong Java coding experience.
  • End-to-end testing experience.
  • 3+ years developing test automation scripts using object-oriented frameworks (TestNG, Java).
  • 3+ years creating and executing tests using API testing frameworks (RestAssured).
  • 3+ years of performance testing for high-scale backend systems.
  • Good working knowledge of NoSQL databases (MongoDB, etc.).
  • Functional testing on Native Apps and OTT web platforms (a big plus).
• Leadership & Mentorship
  • 2+ years leading engineers across onsite and offshore teams.
  • Proven project leadership experience with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to mentor team members on automation, coverage, and testing best practices.
• Agile & Tools
  • 2+ years of testing experience in Agile Software Development methodology.
  • Exposure to Agile management tools (Jira preferred).
  • Experience with Test Management tools (TestRail required).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with OTT platforms.
• Familiarity with Agile management tools like Jira.
