Descripción del empleo

NTT DATA strives to hire exceptional, innovative and passionate individuals who want to grow with us. If you want to be part of an inclusive, adaptable, and forward‑thinking organization, apply now.

We are currently seeking a Software Development Senior Specialist to join our team in GDL, Jalisco (MX-JAL), Mexico.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Full Stack Engineer who is passionate about building the foundational systems, tools, and paved roads that empower thousands of engineers across our organization. In this role, you’ll work within our Cloud and Developer Experience organization to design and deliver self‑service capabilities, reusable IaC components, and developer experience tooling that streamline how teams build, deploy, and operate cloud‑native services at scale.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Design, build, and evolve platform capabilities including Infrastructure as Code modules, Kubernetes automation, service templates, and observability integrations that support teams across the company.
  • Develop reusable frameworks and self‑service tooling in TypeScript/Node.js that simplify service provisioning, deployment workflows, and operational readiness.
  • Contribute to the creation and adoption of golden paths and paved‑road templates, improving consistency, reliability, and developer experience across our ecosystem.
  • Implement platform components focused on availability, security, and cost efficiency, partnering with senior engineers for design guidance when needed.
  • Work closely with product teams and internal stakeholders to understand pain points, gather feedback, and iterate on platform features that drive measurable impact.
  • Participate in roadmap planning, technical design reviews, and platform KPI development, helping shape the next generation of internal tooling.
  • Contribute to engineering culture by sharing best practices, participating in code reviews, and mentoring junior engineers on modern cloud and platform techniques.
What You Bring
  • 4–8 years of software engineering experience, with exposure to platform engineering, developer experience, cloud infrastructure, or DevOps practices.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, OpenTofu, or Pulumi.
  • Working knowledge of at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure); AWS experience is a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with containers and orchestration frameworks (Docker, Kubernetes, EKS/GKE preferred).
  • Exposure to observability stacks such as Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, or Datadog, and an understanding of how apps should be instrumented. Datadog experience is a strong plus.
  • Experience creating or consuming service scaffolding, platform templates, or internal developer tooling (e.g., Backstage plugins, boilerplate repos).
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable code supported by strong testing practices.
  • A customer‑centric approach to internal tooling — you deeply care about the developer journey and work to reduce friction wherever possible.
  • Ability to work iteratively, delivering tangible improvements while contributing to the long‑term platform vision.
  • Experience gathering feedback, partnering with product management, and helping define platform KPIs or success metrics.
  • Comfortable balancing engineering excellence with pragmatic delivery, especially when working cross‑functionally.
Bonus Skills (Nice to Have)
  • Experience with Go or Python for platform automation or service development.
  • Familiarity with Backstage, Internal Developer Portals, or building plugin architectures.
  • Experience with CI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar).
  • Knowledge of security best practices for cloud‑native environments (IAM, secrets management, vulnerability scanning, etc.).
  • Understanding of cost optimization principles in cloud environments.
