Job Summary
We’re looking for a hands-on, visionary Backend Architect to lead the design and development of high-impact systems. This is your chance to shape architecture from the ground up, drive innovation, and build scalable platforms that power real-world solutions.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead backend architecture: define frameworks, data structures, and design robust APIs and services
• Contribute directly to development efforts: create core components, prototypes, and critical features
• Establish and maintain architectural standards, design principles, and best practices
• Drive technical discussions and make architecture decisions in collaboration with teams and stakeholders
• Support the development team by resolving blockers and ensuring alignment with the technical roadmap
• Review code, provide implementation guidance, and uphold high standards of code quality
• Partner with DevOps and QA to ensure application reliability, monitoring, and seamless deployment processes

Job Requirements

• Great English proficiency (B2+ Written and spoken)
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in backend development with Python
• Impeccable punctuality (schedules are flexible but being in time for meetings is crucial
• Proven success in roles such as Solution Architect, Technical Lead, or Senior Backend Engineer
• Deep expertise in Python frameworks such as FastAPI, Django, or Flask
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems
• Proficiency in RESTful API design and modular service separation
• Solid background in data modeling and relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL
• Experience with asynchronous processing and message queues (e.g., Celery, RabbitMQ)
• Demonstrated ability to build scalable, maintainable, and fault-tolerant systems
• Comfortable working in Linux environments, with experience in Docker and Git-based version control workflows
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly explain and defend technical decisions

Nice to have

• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or GCP
• Experience in application monitoring, logging, and performance tuning
• Exposure to AI/ML technologies or vector databases (e.g., Qdrant, Pinecone)

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time consultancy, with up to 40 weekly hours during regular business times. We operate under a flexible core hours policy to accommodate various schedules, allowing consultants to perform during their peak productivity times. Additionally, we offer the flexibility to work remotely.
