Role Summary
The Sales Representative for San Francisco, CA implements tactics defined by Marketing and Sales plans. They deliver balanced sales presentations to a defined list of current and prospective customers with a defined frequency, using all marketing and selling materials for the audience. The role involves effective business planning, covering healthcare practitioners in the assigned territory, and organizing activities to ensure regular territory coverage and compliance with reporting requirements.
Responsibilities
- Achieve all product sales performance goals and objectives for the territory.
- Distribute samples and record sample transactions in accordance with policy and PDMA guidelines.
- Develop comprehensive and accurate sales presentations using approved marketing materials.
- Maintain proficient knowledge of promoted product disease states and indications.
- Deliver sales presentations to current and prospective customers with frequency based on call goals.
- Implement the selling model and process principles, including DiSC profiling when engaging with customers.
- Complete pre- and post-call analysis to positively impact customer interactions.
- Regularly review and analyze sales data and utilize developmental budget funds.
- Adhere to all compliance policies and guidelines.
- Develop a daily call schedule to ensure efficient and comprehensive territory coverage.
- Complete administrative reports and meet related deadlines.
- Safeguard company assets (e.g., laptop, iPad, fleet vehicle).
- Maintain a call average of 8+ calls per day and 40+ calls per week with healthcare providers focused on top target customers.
- Enter calls into Veeva System via iPad and respond to emails daily.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) in Business, Life Sciences, Marketing or relevant field – Required
- Experience: 1 year or more of successful outside sales experience required; life science industry experience preferred. 3+ years of life science industry sales experience required; specialty pharmaceutical experience strongly preferred.
- Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills; strong understanding of disease states and treatments; proven track record in pharmaceutical or medical device sales; ability to build and maintain professional relationships; self-motivated with strong organizational and time management skills; combination of medical knowledge, sales expertise, and patient focus.
- Licenses: US Driver's license required upon hire.
