A leading engineering firm is seeking a Sales Engineer experienced in governmental and industrial sectors. This role involves directing the sales process, identifying opportunities, and negotiating contracts. The ideal candidate has over 12 years of experience in technical sales, is proficient in English and knowledgeable in electrical power systems. Overview

Purpose

Direct the activities related to the sales process and customer service, maintenance, supervision and control of the regional sales offices to the sales plans, employee manual, quality system guidelines, operational objectives and the budget approved by the Directorate follow-up and compliance with the operational goals and objectives through the correct and orderly operation of the office, maintaining the facilities and work teams in optimal conditions and meeting the sales and expense budget.

Responsibilities
  1. Direct work and activities of sales and support to clients of the Regional Sales Office, correct operation of the regional sales office, preparing and executing the annual sales plans, regional technical support, maintenance and safety and hygiene.
  2. Coordinate Promotion of Products, services and requests for technical support to customers through telephone contact, visits, courses and sales demonstrations of Products, Services and Technical Support.
  3. Identify new sales opportunities, new markets, new clients and new applications, opening of new markets, detection of business niches and Diversification.
  4. Develop promotion and sales strategies, quarterly and annual sales forecasts for products and services.
  5. Prepare technical-commercial offers for clients sales and profit margin for the company.
  6. Negotiate contracts and customer purchase orders directly up to 25 KUSD and up to 1 MUSD with the authorization of the General Director of sales and profit margin for the company and its correct delivery to operations.
  7. Execute sales, marketing and technical support activities such as customer service at conferences and other promotional events, product sales contacts, services and customer service.
  8. Report plans, forecasts, progress and results of the sales plan, have follow-up and information for decision-making and operations planning.
  9. Supervise support requests and queries from pre- and post-sale customers and, if necessary, channel them to the Technical Support Management, customer satisfaction and sales of SEL products and services.

Requirements (Education/Experience/Training/Skills/Competencies)

Electrical or electronic engineering.

Twelve to fifteen years of accumulated experience.

More than eight years in the area of Sales to the Government, Construction and Industrial Electrical Sector.

More than seven years of experience as a Sales Engineer and Technical Support.

English language proficiency, TOIC 785 to 900.

Electrical power systems.

Sales to the government sector, public bidding processes.

Attitude of service.

Capacity to make decisions.

Knowledge of SEL products and services and best industrial practices of our clients.

Additional Information
  1. Sales to government and industrial sectors, highly technical sales, must have advanced knowledge of Electrical Power Systems. Must propose and specify technical solutions, make quotes, coordinate technical support requests and sign contracts up to USD $100,000.
  2. Prepares as directly responsible and requests authorization for offers greater than USD $100,000.
  3. Makes decisions and is responsible for meeting annual sales goals greater than 5 MUSD.
  4. Complete definition of models and equipment for their corresponding quote.
  5. Channeling and Supervision of technical support requests.
  6. Reception and delivery of SEL equipment under warranty.
  7. Support to the Director of Sales and Customer Service in the review, preparation and signing of bids and proposals; as well as in scope review and signing of contracts and purchase orders.
  8. Support in the Review and Authorization of Expenses of the Regional Offices
  9. This position has the authority to stop the production process when an act is observed that may affect the quality of the product.
  10. This position has the authority and responsibility to stop any activity or situation that has the potential to cause harm to safety, employee health, and/or the environment.
