This position is responsible for ensuring production meets quality standards and customer requirements, establishing industry standards, and enforcing/documenting company policies and procedures.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for process-related concerns.
- Lead continual improvement activities to enhance quality controls, AQL, inspection methods, control plans, APQP, and lean tools such as 5S, Kaizen, and PDCA.
- Develop training programs to build quality awareness among staff.
- Support Quality Inspectors to ensure products and processes comply with relevant quality management system requirements.
- Review FMEAs for each complaint or failure tendency, and produce necessary changes or revisions.
- Ensure timely resolution of supplier failures, corrective actions, and preventive measures.
- Lead team efforts to resolve issues related to customer or product quality concerns.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Operations to ensure new products meet standards before handoff to manufacturing.
- Monitor and ensure closure of corrective actions and non-conformities within their area.
- Maintain knowledge of Quality KPIs, DPMs, yields, and quality tools.
- Manage quality system processes, including work instruction review, nonconformance management, handling customer complaints and RMA, and compliance with ISO 9001:2015.
- Ensure effective resolution of customer issues through corrective and preventive actions.
Qualifications include:
- Knowledge of quality systems ISO 9001:2015 & ISO 13485 (preferred).
- Knowledge of PPAP, PFMEA, 8D's, APQP, and the 8 quality tools.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing efficiency, performance, and productivity.
- Proficiency with continuous improvement tools such as Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
- Strong communication skills.
- English proficiency at 80% conversational level.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (2+ years in related field).
- Experience with sheet metal and powder coating manufacturing processes.
