A global engineering firm is seeking a Process Engineer specializing in plastic injection molding to optimize processes and enhance productivity. The candidate will have a focus on collaboration, standardization, and continuous improvement within the automotive sector. Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Process Engineering and have 3 to 5 years of relevant experience, along with strong communication skills and an advanced level of English.

Role Overview

The Process Engineer specializing in plastic injection molding is a key point of contact for operations, ensuring the optimization and stability of injection molding processes. This role involves interacting with critical business areas, understanding technical and operational issue. It requires a combination of technical expertise in injection processes and strong communication skills to bridge production needs with engineering and quality best practices.

Work Environment: On site

Key Responsibilities
  • Process Optimization: Develop, implement, and maintain efficient injection molding processes to meet production targets and quality standards.
  • Standardization: Conduct comprehensive capacity studies within the injection molding area to identify bottlenecks and implement standardized processes (Machine balance studies) aimed at reducing nonproductive downtime and improving overall equipment efficiency (OEE).
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives such as Kaizen events, lean manufacturing practices, and process audits to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
  • Tooling & Equipment Management: Collaborate with tooling engineers and maintenance teams to ensure molds and machines are properly maintained and optimized.
  • Quality Assurance: Work closely with quality teams to ensure compliance with specifications, standards, and customer requirements.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Prepare and maintain process documentation, including work instructions, visuals aids and performance reports.
  • Training & Support: Provide technical guidance and training to operators and technicians on best practices for injection molding.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with design, production, and projects engineer teams to support new product launches and engineering changes.
  • Analyse existing business processes and recommend improvements or optimizations.
Critical Competencies for Success
  • Deep understanding of plastic materials, mold design, machine parameters, and process optimization techniques.
  • A focus on achieving key performance indicators (KPIs) such as OEE, scrap reduction, and cycle time improvement. Demonstrates a sense of urgency and ownership in resolving production issues.
  • Ability to systematically diagnose complex process problems, perform root cause analysis, and implement data-driven solutions. Strong analytical skills to interpret data from DOE (Design of Experiments), SPC (Statistical Process Control), and capability studies.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and Kaizen practices to drive operational excellence.
  • Ability to lead initiatives that reduce waste as changemodel, improve cycle times, and enhance productivity.
  • Competence in using statistical tools for process monitoring and capability studies.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with production, design, maintenance, and quality teams.
  • Experience in managing multiple projects, timelines, and resources effectively.
Level of Education and Experience:
  • Bachelors in: Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Process and Automation
  • 3 to 5 years of Experience in Automotive Industry
  • English level Advanced
