A leading insurance firm in Mexico City seeks a Regional Placement Officer to manage operations and develop placement strategies. The ideal candidate will have over 6 years of insurance experience, a Bachelor's degree, and an insurance broker's license. Responsibilities include mentoring staff, negotiating contracts, and ensuring alignment with business objectives. This is a key role to stimulate revenue growth and improve client retention.

The Role
  • Participate with regional placement officer in establishing overall placement strategy for the region
  • Should be recognized by others as an expert in their field
  • Manage daily operations and staffing issues for local office
  • Stimulate revenue growth and meet business objectives by placing new business, improving retention rates, increasing commission rates and utilizing Group resources
  • Coordinate with national partner and each local office regional partner / managing partner to ensure alignment between placement and production strategies
  • Market new business opportunities and secure coverage according to the 5 point plan and to meet client needs
  • Recruit, motivate, mentor and manage workflow of assigned office placement staff
  • Supervise review of renewal business for adequacy of coverage and competitive rates
  • Negotiate terms for major accounts and provide expertise for difficult to place business
  • Develop new partner markets where needed locally and support nationally based relationships
  • Negotiate carrier contracts and work with national contract manager prior to executing any agreement
  • Create, enhance and maintain effective relationships with carriers, clients, placement team and producers/sales and resolve conflicts as needed
  • Support career development and training and ensure local succession planning is in place
  • Maintain an active pipeline of talent for placement roles
The Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and insurance brokers license.
  • Ability to think and act strategically
  • Ability to provide expert, in depth advice to client
  • Technical knowledge of insurance contracts/structure
  • Must demonstrate core competency of Willis Towers Watson Values and Vision
  • Knowledge and understanding of global marketplace
  • Leadership skills
