Job Summary:

Oversees production operations and distribution center activities within assigned scope of responsibility for one or more of the following processes: packing, shipping, receiving, order fulfillment, stock handling, storing, distribution and inventory support, integration assembly, electromechanical systems, PC integration and configuration, testing, technical repair, planning and quality assurance. Provides high quality, cost effective, and efficient service to meet current and future demands. Optimizes facilities utilization, process execution and compliance with internal policies and procedures and external regulations. Provides oversight and direction for assigned team, financial and operational activities.

Principal Responsibilities:
  • Manages a team responsible for assembling and/or installing a variety of hardware and electronic components using state-of-the-art technology and processes.
  • Oversees the integration, configuration and testing of a variety of hardware, operating system software and peripherals.
  • Manages order fulfillment from stored inventory, meeting customer requirements and inspection/testing processes; order shipments within time commitments in the most cost-effective manner; communication with customers regarding any fulfillment issues or problems.
  • Manages inventory through periodic and special inventory counts, reconciles discrepancies, and ensures accuracy including returns of defective materials.
  • Plans, develops and/or implements quality assurance procedures. Evaluates quality deviations to determine cause, effect, and corrective measures to remedy such deviations.
  • Surveys customers periodically regarding accuracy of shipments, quality of product, efficiency of process, adherence to specifications and overall customer experience.
  • Ensures team's work area is well maintained and in compliance with all safety regulations and department policies including Electro Static Discharge (ESD) requirements.
  • Responsible for ensuring equipment is safe, in good repair, functioning appropriately and calibrated in full compliance with required military, ISO and other quality standards. Reviews the evaluation, recommendation and implementation of new equipment or equipment enhancements.
  • Reviews, presents, manages and/or contributes to a variety of statistical, narrative, financial regularly scheduled and ad hoc written and oral reports and presentations.
  • Assesses productivity measures, identifies trends and monitors department activity.
  • Identifies, investigates, and participates in opportunities to improve processes and procedures, to include various key performance metrics.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Manages experienced, professional employees and/or supervisors; and/or manages large, complex technical and/or business support teams. Accountable for the performance and results of a team and/or department.
  • Interprets and administers policies, processes and procedures that affect direct reports and the workflow of the team/department. Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges. Contributes to budget development and performance standards of department and direct reports.
  • Assignments are defined in the form of objectives. Decisions are guided by policies, procedures, business plans and independent judgment.
  • Collaborates with team(s), customers/ clients, functional peer group managers and occasionally senior management. Participates and presents at meetings with internal and external representatives.
  • Decisions may have impact on work processes and outcomes. Erroneous decisions or recommendations may result in serious delays and considerable expenditures of additional time, people and/or financial resources.
Work Experience:
  • Typically 6+ years including 2+ years of supervisory experience
Education and Certification(s):
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.
Distinguishing Characteristics:
  • Experience managing distribution center and production teams
  • Fluent in English
