Overview

Amphenol Mexicali is seeking a Molding Engineer to address the needs of production programs, implement manufacturing methods and processes, and optimize available resources. If you have experience in plastic molding and skills in product development, this is your opportunity!

Responsibilities
  • Conduct complete validations of equipment and molds to ensure budgeted costs and quality levels are met.
  • Prepare the required documentation, such as validation protocols and reports, to comply with quality system guidelines.
  • Develop and execute DOE as required by business needs.
  • Collect and analyze statistical data and document results in process development completion reports, IQ, OQ, and PQ.
  • Act as a key participant in DFMEA, PFMEA, and CTQ processes, ensuring specifications are well defined and documented.
  • Be a conceptual leader in technological advancements related to tool and process development.
  • Communicate and coordinate activities with multiple functional groups both within and outside operations.
  • Assist molding supervisors and technicians in improving the quality and production of molded components.
  • Coordinate and perform practical problem-solving for molding issues with the tooling/machine maintenance group, monitoring operational parameters of molds and related support equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with manufacturing tolerances.
  • Guide molding technicians in establishing optimal molding parameters to achieve production volume goals at the lowest cost.
  • Issue periodic reports on the status of molds and other related equipment.
  • Coordinate with other engineers and manufacturing process technologies (R&D) to improve existing plastic parts and generate adequate supporting data to obtain approval for recommended changes.
  • Coordinate new molding projects.
What You Need to Join Our Team
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in plastic molding.
  • Knowledge of validation and product development in the cable and harness industry.
  • 80% proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Experience in injection molding.
  • Experience with ISO 13485.
  • Understanding of tool design, problem-solving, and component qualification.
