This role will create compelling collateral and content that drives awareness, supports sales, and customer success, and strengthens our K–12 and sponsor-facing communications. The ideal candidate has strong writing, design, and project management skills — and thrives in a collaborative, fast‑paced start‑up environment.
Key Responsibilities
Brand & Content Development
- Develop and design marketing collateral to support business development, customer success, and K-12 program delivery.
- Create and manage content for sales decks, case studies, one‑pagers, newsletters, social media, and web pages.
- Collaborate with internal teams (K-12, Customer Success, Product, and Operations) to ensure consistent branding and messaging.
- Maintain brand voice and visual consistency across all materials.
- Manage brand assets and templates for internal and external use.
- Develop clear value propositions and messaging frameworks for different audiences (students, parents, educators, sponsors).
- Build trust signals into all communications: educator endorsements, student impact stories, privacy information, etc.
Product Marketing & Positioning
- In partnership with Product, optimize onboarding communications to drive activation and early engagement.
- Collect and synthesize user stories, testimonials, and feedback to inform messaging and product priorities.
- Conduct user interviews to understand what drives excitement, sharing behavior, and word‑of‑mouth recommendations.
Community Building & Growth Marketing
- Design and execute referral programs, viral loops, and growth experiments to drive user acquisition.
- Track and improve conversion rates across the marketing funnel, with focus on organic and referred traffic.
- Lead campaign execution, including sponsor and school outreach materials.
- Build and nurture student, educator, and family communities through social channels, user‑generated content campaigns, and ambassador programs.
Thought Leadership
- Position founders and company as innovators in the EdTech space through earned media, speaking opportunities, and industry presence.
- Translate field successes and customer wins into compelling case studies and proof points for external audiences.
Performance & Analytics
- Measure performance and engagement of marketing materials; recommend improvements.
- Track key growth metrics: organic reach, referral rates, engagement rates, content shares, and brand sentiment.
- Report on community health: active members, user‑generated content volume, and advocacy behaviors.
- Manage vendor and contractor relationships as needed (e.g., designers, printers).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, graphic design, or related field.
- 3+ years of marketing experience, ideally within a start‑up, nonprofit, or education‑related organization.
- Strong writing and content creation skills.
- Proficiency in Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design tools.
- Familiarity with HubSpot, Salesforce, or other CRM/marketing automation tools is a plus.
- Comfort working cross‑functionally and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with growth marketing, community management, or viral campaigns strongly preferred.
- Understanding of B2B2C models and multi‑stakeholder marketing dynamics.
- Comfortable rolling up sleeves to execute tactically while thinking strategically about brand positioning and growth.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
