This role reports to the Director of Enterprise Applications and leads the design, delivery and support of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) – Plan to Produce capabilities.
This role leads a team of managers, individual professionals, and suppliers to deliver applications and technical solutions aligned with the business strategy to enable and protect enterprise value. The leader is actively involved in developing business aligned solutions, prioritizing resources, negotiating contracts, guiding team members, and consulting with internal customers. The role is most directly accountable for SAP and QAD/MfgPro Plan to Produce functionality that includes Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Executing, Manufacturing Planning, Inventory and Warehouse Mgmt, Quality, Plant Maintenance and Variant Configuration.

  • Provides thought leadership to proactively solve business challenges and issues.
  • Manages operational stability, health, and availability of technology solutions.
  • Protects the business and brands across cyber, risk, and compliance requirements.
  • Prioritizes resources to achieve strategic business outcomes.
What You Have
  • Strategy development & execution: Experience leading, developing, socializing, and executing IT strategies and roadmaps.
  • Relationship management: Collaborating and managing partner and peer relationships to achieve business outcomes by leading through influence and direct accountability in a matrixed environment. Common interactions are held with CIO’s, directors, and vice presidents of Caterpillar.
  • Customer-focused: Strong business and financial acumen, especially in Manufacturing, with a “customer back” mindset.
  • Manufacturing Deployment: Breadth and depth of expertise in manufacturing concepts, processes, and systems. This requires a strong understanding of how manufacturing and IT work together to achieve facility metrics and goals. Ability and experience to follow a Go-See-Act process to assess manufacturing facilities for ERP capability stack.
  • Software engineering & releasing: Designing and building technology solutions that strengthen the core business and pioneer the future with expanded offerings that grow services while fully utilizing the IT tools and functions available today.
  • Data & information enablement: Unleashing the power of data insights to manage the business and improve business outcomes.
  • Operational support: Supporting global, large scale manufacturing operations and in a matrixed support structure 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This trait requires a working knowledge of how ERP’s are used in complex manufacturing environments.
  • Talent Management: Adept at leading and inspiring global, multi-sourced teams to deliver high quality, transformational capabilities.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and conflict management skills.
  • ERP Deployment Process Ownership: Delivering customer-back IT processes for optimum value at a unique manufacturing plant. This is a hands‑on deployment activity which requires on site leadership and interaction with a variety of manufacturing functions.

Summary Pay Range:

$169,320.00 - $253,920.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
