A leading home appliance company based in Monterrey, MX, is seeking a Manager, Quality Generalist to oversee supplier quality improvements and ensure operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in quality and manufacturing processes, strong leadership skills, and a Black Belt certification. This is a full-time, on-site position focusing on driving quality and performance improvements across the supply base.

Formación

  • 5+ years of experience in quality and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience working in manufacturing engineering-related fields with supplier quality.
  • Knowledge of electronics process and controls is desired.

The team you will be a part of

The Quality Generalist team conducts internal quality controls concerning particular areas or company products to ensure they fulfill given quality procedures and norms. Monitors and records inconsistencies with quality procedures and norms. Preparing quality analyses and recommends necessary quality procedure changes.

This role in summary

The Supplier Quality and Development (SQ&D) Manager is responsible for supplier quality KPI improvements, Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) approval through PIQ process, issue resolution, performance monitoring, implementing global improvement tools, conducting driving audits, collaborating on manufacturing processes, managing PPAPs, applying lessons learned, and leading commodity CoP/MVT teams for SIR improvement. This position will be based out of Monterrey, MX on a full time on site working arrangement.

Your responsibilities will include
  • Manage a SQ&D team which includes different commodities to drive the supply base toward operational excellence improving KPIs and having a flawless NPI (New Product Introduction) launch.
  • Improve supplier quality systems, develop suppliers' ability to improve product and service quality performance.
  • Assure application of tools and processes with suppliers, apply effective preventive and problem-solving tools and techniques. Focus on proactive prevention and predictive work with suppliers.
  • Develop and apply lessons learned to systematically improve launches and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) quality and commodity KPI improvements.
  • Execute the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) requirements for New Product Introductions, Manage PPAP approval to develop manufacturing processes using purchased item qualification development tools (e.g., PFMEA, Control Plan, Process Map, etc.).
  • Drive supplier systemic improvements and implementation of global tools and processes (8D, Drill Deep/Drill Wide, etc.).
  • Serve as the initial point of contact for short‑term issue resolution, enabling longer‑term solutions.
  • Monitor and improve monthly supplier performance at Whirlpool divisions.
  • Lead the Community of Practice (CoP) of assigned commodities and be part of the MVT teams to drive Supplier Improvement Request (SIR) improvement.
  • 5+ years of experience in quality and manufacturing processes.
  • Black Belt Certified, Data Analysis, identify trends/patterns and implement actions, process management.
  • Experience working in manufacturing engineering‑related fields with supplier quality.
  • Desired: Electronics process and controls knowledge.
Preferred skills and experiences
  • Master in quality or business
  • ISO 9000 and/or TS16949 knowledge desired.
  • Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, OPEX/Six Sigma tools, Lean and Continuous improvement.
