Liquidity Manager
Role Purpose

The jobholder is responsible for supporting Liquidity Risk Management for Mexico. Self‑reliance and the ability to work unaided are essential to the role. The jobholder also requires a strong capacity for analysis, complemented by the ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely. In addition, it is indispensable to distill complex information into its most essential elements, identify errors, and apply clear, logical, and structured thinking in order to be responsible for the business as usual and ad‑hoc processes for HBMX. The type of work requires initiative and drive.

Main Activities
  • Ensure that PRA liquidity metrics reports are prepared with accuracy and completeness, reflecting a high standard of precision and consistency.
  • Conduct an in‑depth analysis of PRA and local liquidity metrics, with concise and reliable explanations provided for the most significant movements.
  • Automate liquidity metrics tools, stress testing files, and related documentation, ensuring compliance with EUC controls.
  • Embed the ILAAP process with a proactive review and challenge of the key assumptions definition.
  • Perform forecasting processes, working closely with Business Finance Lines.
  • Collaborate with MX and LAM Head of Global Treasury, other functions (IRBB, Recovery and Resolution Planning, Capital Management), Markets Treasury, Second Line of Defence and Finance departments.
  • Provide insight to Bank’s Senior Management through management information and make recommendations to support effective liquidity management.
  • Maintain and develop productive relations with Finance teams and Business teams.
  • Collaborate with external and internal parties (audit team, local regulator, etc.) as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with operational risk controls in accordance with HSBC or regulatory standards and policies, and optimize relations with regulators by addressing any issues.
  • Complete other responsibilities as assigned.
  • Ensure compliance of both general and local liquidity controls as well as operational risk controls in accordance with HSBC or regulatory standards and policies, and optimize relations with key stakeholders by addressing any issues.
  • Possess strong knowledge of Liquidity Risk and bank regulation.
  • Possess strong knowledge related to balance sheet and P&L movements.
  • Demonstrate interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise with senior management, self‑motivation, good judgment, and independent decision‑making ability while contributing to a team environment.
  • Maintain HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
Requirements
  • University degree in a financial or quantitative discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience, preferably in Treasury, Business, Finance, Stress Testing, liquid reporting, finance or data analytics.
  • Strong data mining and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of Liquidity risk and regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Strong ability to identify and mitigate risks and apply appropriate controls.
  • Flexibility to work in accordance with business requirements.
  • Deep understanding of finance in the banking business, mainly ALCM, Treasury and Risk management activities.
  • Knowledge of Liquidity.
  • Maintain internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
  • Strong financial analysis skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines and maintain a high level of accuracy and ability to communicate complex ideas both written and verbally at all levels of the organisation.
  • English proficiency is a must given the daily interaction with stakeholders across the HSBC Group.
  • Programming languages knowledge (i.e. Python, R, SQL).
  • Advanced English.
