We are a fast-scaling automotive finance company focused on delivering innovative financial solutions to our clients.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Legal Director to lead the legal strategy and operations of a fast-scaling automotive finance company. This is a senior leadership role with full ownership of legal matters across the organization, reporting directly to the CEO.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all legal functions, compliance, and risk strategies across the company.
• Advise executive leadership on all legal matters related to financial regulation, automotive partnerships, and corporate strategy.
• Oversee legal change management to ensure all corporate transitions are handled in full regulatory compliance, aligned with the company’s accelerated growth environment.
• Manage a high-volume contract environment.
• Structure and support alliances with top automotive groups in Mexico.
• Ensure proper handling of open market lending, title loans, and financing for new and pre-owned vehicles.
• Support corporate governance, M&A, IP, and labor matters.
• Build and consolidate a strong legal department to effectively support the company’s operational growth and strategic objectives.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of legal leadership experience in the automotive finance sector.
• Proven expertise with new and used vehicle financing, title loans, and related regulations.
• Hands-on leadership in fast-paced, high-growth, or startup environments.
• Strong business acumen and ability to work cross-functionally with executive and commercial teams.
• Excellent negotiation, drafting, and advisory skills.
• Fully bilingual in Spanish and English.
• Law degree required; postgraduate legal studies preferred.
