We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Jr Accounting Analyst

Purpose role

The purpose of this role is to provide reconciliation services to ensure General ledger and sub-ledgers accounts are properly reviewed and substantiated, variances are escalated to appropriate stakeholders and cleared from the accounts according to predefined clearing times. Job role is performed and engage along international teams from other regions within HSBC.

  • Perform analytical review (in line with IFRS) and provide assurance on the quality and accuracy of data to be used for preparation and publication of reconciliations. The process involves performing appropriate analysis and logical checks to ensure there is reasonableness and consistency in data submissions, as also to identify any material errors and omissions.
  • Prepare/review journals and entries focused on applied adjustments to the General Ledger.
  • Identify opportunities to increase efficiency and consistency of process.
  • Build mechanism to track data inconsistencies as early as possible in the reporting cycle and take remedial steps to correct them.
Qualifications
  • Postgraduate degree in Actuarial Science, Accounting, Economics or Business Administration or related field with experience in accounting/financial reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills – Written & Verbal.
  • Intermediate-Advanced written and spoken business English.
  • Ability to understand numbers and their impact drive and achieve accuracies across report deliveries.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office suite (Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Word).
  • Expertise with SQL, Excel Macros, Power BI, etc.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service orientation, to build cohesive working relationships with key stakeholders and business partners.
  • Ability to work with international and multicultural teams.
  • Sound judgment skills to identify and resolve problems.
