Who are you?
This role requires a seasoned finance leader who is equally comfortable defining strategic financial direction and rolling up their sleeves to execute day‑to‑day tasks. You'll manage the finances of both our US and Spanish entities, while ensuring our operations in Latin America run smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the full accounting cycle for Wise Athena Inc. (US) and Wise Athena SL (Spain).
• Ensure timely and accurate payment processing, including salaries for both entities.
• Manage Accounts Receivable: issuing invoices, managing collections, and ensuring cash flow health, particularly for clients in Latin America.
• Lead risk management efforts, identifying, assessing, and mitigating financial, operational, and compliance risks across all regions.
• Ensure regulatory compliance in all operating jurisdictions, including financial reporting standards, tax laws, and industry‑specific regulations
• Ensure accurate product quotations for clients.
• Prepare periodic financial reports for both entities.
• Review, develop, and ensure all agreements with customers comply with company policies.
• Lead the preparation and management of financial budgets and forecasts.
• Partner with the People & Culture Lead to approve annual compensation reviews and establish financial objectives for employee bonuses
• Identify and secure alternative funding sources.
• Maintain strong relationships with investors.
• Ensure compliance with all tax obligations for both entities.
• Manage grants and loans.
• Oversee banking operations and relationships.
• Review and manage employee expense reports and supplier invoices.

Minimum Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Head of Finance, Finance Director, or similar leadership role.
• Strong expertise in US and Spain accounting standards and tax compliance.
• Experience with financial operations in Latin America, including invoicing, collections, and local compliance requirements.
• Track record of managing finances in a scale‑up or startup environment (not just corporate).
• Comfortable being both strategic and hands‑on — able to wear multiple hats without a dedicated team initially.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Spanish.
• Advanced knowledge of financial software and tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in SaaS or technology companies.
• Knowledge of fundraising processes, investor relations, and grant/loan management.
• Previous work in a remote and globally distributed team environment.
