A global leader in powersports is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager in Monterrey, Mexico. This role involves developing sourcing strategies, optimizing supplier performance, and leading a high-performing team. The Strategic Sourcing Manager plays a critical leadership role in developing long range sourcing strategies, optimizing supplier performance, and driving cost effective solutions across assigned commodities. This position leads a high performing team, builds strong supplier partnerships, and ensures that sourcing strategies align with corporate objectives and cross functional business needs. The role requires a forward thinking leader capable of influencing stakeholders, managing complex sourcing initiatives, and delivering measurable results in cost, quality, and operational performance.
The Strategic Sourcing Manager is responsible for leading and developing a high performing sourcing team by leveraging individual strengths, fostering open communication, and driving results through positive leadership. The role oversees hiring, career development, and performance management for team members.
A key responsibility is building and maintaining strong relationships with supplier leadership to support long term planning, strategic alignment, and collaborative partnerships. The manager provides coaching to employees on effective supplier management, reviews supplier recommendations to ensure alignment with departmental and corporate strategies, and guides the team through supplier onboarding and exit processes. Escalation support is provided as needed.
This role ensures that sourcing and category strategies align with corporate goals, cross functional requirements, and long range business needs.
Responsibilities include developing strategic sourcing plans, managing consolidated cost initiatives, and overseeing annual product cost budgeting and quarterly forecasting. The Strategic Sourcing Manager partners closely with Quality, Material Planning, and Operations leadership to ensure supplier performance supports organizational objectives.
Additional responsibilities include conducting value analysis, identifying improvement opportunities, and developing comprehensive plans to enhance operational and financial performance. The position requires strong influence and communication skills to convey detailed sourcing strategies to diverse audiences, as well as proficiency in presenting to operations and executive leadership.
Working conditions include a fast paced office environment and 20–30% travel, including international travel to Europe and Southeast Asia.
