A global IT service provider is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer in Jalisco, Mexico. The role involves integrating security into DevOps, automating security testing, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Cybersecurity and at least 3 years of experience in DevOps or security engineering, with familiarity in CI/CD tools and cloud platforms.

Formación

  • Understanding of zero-trust architecture is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with threat modeling and risk assessment.

We are currently seeking a DevsecOps Engineer to join our team in Jalisco, GDL, MX, México (MX-MEX), Mexico (MX).

DevSecOps - Onsite Requirement - MX - Collaborates on the design, development and testing of technical solutions. Utilizes strong coding and script skills to re-engineer, automate and streamline business processes for clients. Installs, configures and troubleshoots virtual servers and network issues. Responsible for ensuring proper code documentation is completed. Participates in project kick-off calls and solution delivery handoff meetings.

Responsibilities
  • Integrates security practices into DevOps pipelines to ensure secure software delivery from development to deployment.
  • Automates security testing (e.g., SAST, DAST, SCA) within CI/CD workflows to identify vulnerabilities early.
  • Implements infrastructure as code (IaC) with embedded security controls for consistent and secure environments.
  • Collaborates with development, operations, and security teams to align on secure coding, deployment, and monitoring practices.
  • Monitors systems and applications for security threats using SIEM, log analysis, and anomaly detection tools.
  • Manages secrets and credentials securely, using vaults and access control mechanisms.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR) across the software lifecycle.
  • Responds to security incidents in cloud and on-prem environments, supporting rapid remediation and recovery.
  • Educates teams on DevSecOps principles, promoting a culture of shared responsibility for security.
  • Stays current with emerging DevSecOps tools and practices, continuously improving automation and resilience.
  • Individuals understand their own area and are able to perform all facets of their role.
  • They have experience in most issues that may arise, although require guidance with new assignments or assignments outside normal scope of work.
  • They manage projects with oversight from their supervisor.
  • Acts as the technical owner of multiple modules within the Cloud Solution system.
  • Analyzes and recommends solutions and technology to achieve clients’ needs.
  • Recommends changes in procedures providing clear and concise information on request.
  • Leads the design and development of at least one module: Asset, Accelerator, Point Solution or Differentiator, for owned Business Area.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Cybersecurity.
  • 3+ years in DevOps or security engineering.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and containerization.
  • Knowledge of security frameworks and tools.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certifications (e.g., CISSP, CKA, AWS Security).
  • Experience with SAST/DAST tools.
  • Familiarity with zero-trust architecture.
  • Exposure to threat modeling and risk assessment.
