Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry‑leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry. This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical‑based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical‑based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
The Buying/Procuring Coordinator supports the procurement team by performing administrative and operational tasks related to purchasing and sourcing, as well as creating and managing Power BI reports to provide data‑driven insights for procurement activities. This position is responsible for ensuring timely procurement of goods and services, maintaining accurate records, and supporting vendor communication to meet organizational needs. The role primarily focuses on assisting higher‑level procurement staff, processing purchase orders, and ensuring compliance with Corning Mexico’s policies and procedures.

Education.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field is preferred but not required.
Technical or vocational training in procurement, logistics, or operations is a plus.
Work Experience.
Typically, 5 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or administrative support roles, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Prior experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) or procurement tools is a plus.
Experience working with Power BI for report creation and data analysis is highly preferred.
