We are currently seeking a Cloud Architect (GCP) Remote to join our team in Mexico, México (MX-MEX), Mexico (MX).
Role: Cloud Architect GCP & GKE (Fully Remote)

Responsibilities
The description below reflects responsibilities and activities associated with the Cloud Architect GCP & GKE role. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Design, assess, and implement GCP solutions across compute, network, storage, identity, and security, including DR/business continuity, migration planning, cost optimization, and automation tooling (PowerShell, Terraform, Ansible).
- Lead large, complex cloud transformation programs: discovery, assessment, business case creation, design, build, migration planning and execution.
- Utilize industry-leading or native discovery, assessment, and migration tools; ensure security and compliance controls and data sovereignty.
- Develop cloud environment designs focused on GCP; produce architecture documents detailing the vision for infrastructure and platform services that support applications, databases, and testing teams.
- Collaborate with application architects and DevOps to modernize IaaS into PaaS; create DevOps-enabled delivery and operations models.
- Provide consultative support during production incidents; drive system reliability, availability, scale, and performance activities.
- Evangelize cloud automation and define standards for building and maintaining cloud platforms.
- Guide automation, configuration management (Chef/Puppet/Ansible), and scripting (bash, Python, etc.).
- Develop robust designs to meet customer requirements with scalability, availability, performance, and cost effectiveness using GCP offerings; deliver enterprise-level conceptual solutions and obtain stakeholder consensus.
- Create proof-of-concepts to demonstrate viability; interact with business representatives to gather requirements and define architectural solutions for GCP deployment.
- Provide GCP operations and deployment guidance throughout project lifecycles; monitor metrics and thresholds to trigger corrective actions.
- Support a DevOps approach, configure monitoring and logging for clusters, manage Kubernetes objects, and implement CI/CD pipelines in a globally distributed environment.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum 8+ years of total experience with a focus on Cloud Infrastructure and Google Cloud Platform; GCP Solution Architect Certification and GKE experience are highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of GCP technologies: Compute Engine, Kubernetes (GKE), Cloud Storage/Filestore, VPC, Cloud DNS, Cloud Interconnect, Cloud VPN, firewall rules, Cloud IAM, Resource Manager, Cloud Billing, Cloud Console, Stackdriver, Cloud SQL/Spanner/Bigtable, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Anthos, and related tools.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform; able to write reusable Terraform modules; experience with Python and Unix shell scripting.
- Experience delivering large cloud transformations, including discovery, business case development, design, migration planning and execution.
- Familiarity with security, compliance controls, and data sovereignty considerations in cloud environments; knowledge of ITIL-based service delivery (ITIL certification desired).
- Solid understanding of IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS; ability to design multi-component cloud environments and interface with application, database, and testing teams.
- Experience with monitoring, reliability engineering, and performance optimization; knowledge of Splunk is a plus; experience with CI/CD tooling (Git, Artifactory, Jenkins, Docker registry) and Terraform Enterprise.
- GKE-related capabilities: monitoring/logging, Kubernetes object management, declarative/imperative API usage, secrets management, network/configuration, Terraform modules, and container deployment environments.
- CKA/CKAD certification is a plus; familiarity with Docker in orchestration contexts.
- Excellent communication skills; ability to work with global customers; strong technical leadership and ownership mindset; able to work in diverse time zones.
Certifications
GCP Solutions Architect & GKE certifications are relevant; additional CKAs are a plus.
Process / Quality / Security
- Knowledge of ITIL-based service delivery; ITIL certification is desired; security processes and quality controls knowledge.
