A global medical technology company seeks an Assoc Director of Labor Relations in Xico, Mexico. Formación

  • 8 to 10+ years of relevant experience in similar positions.
  • Experience managing payroll and as an HRBP.
  • Ability to interpret and administer employees' contracts.

Job Description

Assoc Director of Labor Relations

Responsibility

Leads all employee relations programs at the Mexican plants, including the relationship with unions to ensure compliance with the policies and practices of the organization.

Develop and implement policies and procedures, including conciliatory processes.

Responsible also for the Payroll process.

Work closely with VP of Operations, Plant Managers, HR and legal.

Main responsibilities will include
  • In coordination with the HRBP's at the Mexican sites, implement labor relations programs to oversee compliance with the union's negotiated contract.
  • Able to explain Mexican Labor Law applicability to US Legal counterparts.
  • Seeking to avoid litigation or strikes, serving as a liaison to resolve disputes between employees and management.
  • Developing labor policies and internal labor guidelines (RIT - Reglamento Interno de Trabajo).
  • Lead all labor relations projects for all Mexico.
  • In coordination with the sites HRBP's outline CBA negation strategy with the union and provide support during negotiations.
  • Interpret and administer employees' contracts with respect to grievances and labor claims.
  • Responsible for the investigation of all Ethics Hotline cases for Mexican plants.
  • In coordination with the legal department, monitor outside labor legal counselor's contracts.
  • Develop initiatives to ensure healthy work relationships and a supportive atmosphere at the workplace.
  • Provision of advice for department managers on how to deal with employees, most of all in extraordinary situations.
  • Research on labor laws, healthcare regulations, best practices etc.
  • Responsible for the coordination of the Payroll Project.
  • Support on the definition of the Service Delivery Strategy, coordinate this with the regional alignment.
About you
  • Bachelor's Degree (Licenciatura en Administración de Empresas, Relaciones Industriales, Recursos Humanos, Relaciones Laborales, etc.)
  • Full knowledge of Mexican local and federal labor authorities and regulations.
  • Union Relations : CTM, CROC, other unions.
  • Experience in MedTech companies, preferred.
  • 8 to 10+ years of relevant experience in similar positions.
  • Experience managing payroll and as an HRBP, preferred.
