Accounts Assistant (Junior role)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Financial Management:
- Manage all aspects of financial operations, including VAT, withholding tax, and tax filing, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations.
- Handle monthly VAT, withholding tax, and employees' income tax filings, working with an accounting firm to provide necessary documents for tax submission.
- Perform daily and monthly Navision entries, maintaining accurate financial records.
- Conduct credit card reconciliations, including reconciling collections and calculating fees.
- Prepare salary and accounts payable payment requests for approval and processing.
- Accounting:
- Maintain a full set of accounts, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow management.
- Enter daily and monthly transactions in Navision, ensuring accurate and timely recording of all financial activities.
- Manage overall accounts, ensuring compliance with company policies and financial regulations.
- HR:
- Oversee salary calculations, in collaboration with an accounting firm, ensuring accurate and timely payment to employees.
- Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with all local, federal, and international regulations related to import / export, taxation, and financial reporting.
- Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential operational and financial risks.
- Keep up to date with changes in regulations and best practices, ensuring the company remains compliant and competitive.
- Collaboration:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and legal, to support business objectives and drive operational success.
- Provide strategic input to senior management on operational and financial matters, contributing to the overall growth of the company.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
- 2-5 years of relevant experience in finance preferably within the international trade or FMCG industries.
- Strong knowledge of import / export regulations, cargo clearance, VAT, withholding tax, and tax filing processes.
- Proficiency in financial management, including maintaining a full set of accounts, conducting financial analysis, and preparing tax filings.
- Experience with inventory management, including entries in ERP systems like Navision and coordinating inventory transfers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
- Proficiency in relevant software and ERP systems.
- Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
