TXT Group is looking for an Infrared System Engineer to join the Aerospace & Aviation Business Unit. The selected candidate will contribute to the development of state-of-the-art electro-optical systems used on next-generation combat platforms, within a high-level international technical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
System engineering activities on passive IR imaging sensors (IRST), with focus on performance, interfacing, and integration.
Validation and tuning of classical image processing algorithms (noise reduction, contrast enhancement, spatial filtering).
Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams (hardware, software, algorithm development, validation) to ensure proper functional integration of sensors and algorithms.
Support for simulation and modeling of infrared phenomena in operational environments, with attention to atmospheric effects.
Contribution to test scenario definition and technical system documentation.
Requirements:
Degree in STEM disciplines: Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Physics, Computer Engineering, or related fields.
Basic experience in C/C++ programming.
Knowledge of electronics fundamentals (analog and digital) and infrared sensor physics (photon detectors or thermal sensors).
Familiarity with classical image processing techniques.
Preferred Qualifications:
Basic knowledge of geometric and physical optics, including atmospheric effects on IR propagation (e.g., focus, MTF, aberrations, spectral filters).
Understanding of IR sensor physics: semiconductor materials (e.g., InSb, HgCdTe), doping, spectral response, dark current, bias voltages, thermal behavior.
Background in control systems or dynamic system theory.
Experience or interest in real-time embedded systems and dedicated hardware architectures.
Soft Skills:
System-oriented and structured approach, focused on functional analysis and problem solving.
Technical curiosity and interest in physics applied to advanced sensors and critical technologies.
Team-oriented mindset with an aptitude for working in multidisciplinary environments and producing formal technical documentation.
Strong command of English, both written and spoken.
