The Opportunity:

Join Avantor as a Field Sales Specialist Life Science with main focus on the southern Italy and play a pivotal role in advancing our LifeScience business. You will actively promote and sell products from our extensive LifeScience portfolio, supporting the sales team to create sustainable and profitable revenue growth. Your mission will be to nurture relationships with customers, offering both technical and commercial support in various Life Science disciplines. You will be responsible for generating opportunities, systematically following up on them, and moving them through the pipeline until closing.

What we are looking for
  • A Master’s degree or higher in Life Sciences (biology, biotechnology, biochemistry, etc.), or a dual qualification in Life Sciences and Business. A PhD in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Neuroscience, etc., is a valuable asset.
  • Knowledge of research environments in cell biology, molecular biology, and protein analysis.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Professional proficiency in English.
  • Independence, rigor, organizational skills, a field-oriented mindset, and a strong problem-solving approach to provide concrete solutions to customer needs.
  • Basic experience in B2B sales of scientific products.

  • Develop and manage a portfolio of clients (academic, hospital, biotech/pharma) in the south of Italy.
  • Meet revenue and margin objectives set by management.
  • Identify and qualify new business opportunities through proactive outreach (calls, emails, social media, scientific events, etc.).

  • Maintain activity and opportunity data in the CRM system.
