Technical Lead & Project Manager (TLPM) – Memoria™ Project
Part-time, unpaid during the early phase
- Hybrid work model (remote and/or on-site in Milan, Doha – Qatar, or Boston)

This position may evolve into a Chief MedTech Technology Officer, AI Director, or Lead Engineer – Cognitive Systems, based on performance and project growth.

About the Role
We are seeking a Technical Lead & Project Manager (TLPM) specialised in Artificial Intelligence, cognitive modelling, and high-level software architecture to lead the technological development of the Memoria™ Project.
The TLPM will act as:
- AI Technical Lead
- Core Developer
- System Architect
This is a pivotal role with responsibility over the entire technological direction of Memoria™, including AI models, data pipelines, app architecture, dashboards, caregiver tools, and clinical integration pathways.
Responsibilities
AI & Technical Leadership
- Lead development of AI cognitive models, early-detection algorithms, and neural behaviour mapping
- Design and supervise ML pipelines, dataset preparation, model training, and validation
- Build or integrate LLMs, multimodal AI, and inference pipelines
- Ensure compliance with medtech ethics, privacy (GDPR), and data anonymisation
Software Architecture
- Define backend architecture (Python, Node.js, Go, or similar)
- Supervise APIs, cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure), and microservices
- Oversee integration with wearable devices, sensors, and digital health interfaces
- Coordinate UI/UX for patient and caregiver tools
Project Management
- Manage roadmap, sprint planning, and development milestones
- Supervise junior engineers and interns
- Coordinate scientific collaboration with medical supervisors and research partners
- Present project updates to leadership, universities, and institutional partners
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, Engineering, or related fields
- Preferred: PhD in AI, Machine Learning, Cognitive Computing, or Computational Neuroscience
- At least 5 years of experience in software development or AI engineering
- Advanced knowledge of scripting and programming languages:
- Python (mandatory)
- Bash / Shell / PowerShell
- Experience with C/C++ or Go is a plus
- Strong experience with:
- Experience working in medtech, neurotech, or digital health is highly preferred
- Excellent team leadership, problem-solving attitude, and communication skills
- Fluent in English (Italian is a strong plus)
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in brain mapping, cognitive computing, or neuro-assistive technologies
- Previous experience in clinical environments or with medical datasets
- Experience in ethical AI, explainable AI, or health data privacy frameworks
- Ability to collaborate with doctors, neuroscientists, and academic researchers
- Familiarity with CE/MDR medical device processes
