Role Purpose

To assess the design manufacture and in-service aspects of engineering assets using defined Codes Standards specifications procedures and knowledge and experience appropriate for complex / demanding situations. This role may also include managing projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • To perform complex assessments and provide advice for service delivery within agreed broad parameters that include budget constraints and contractual requirements.
  • To produce the deliverable within the agreed broad parameters in an appropriate format and take responsibility to review and monitor other employees work as requested.
  • To discuss/ present the deliverable with the external client at a senior level and be able to suggest alternative solutions where appropriate.
  • Undertake routine administration as required in line with current processes and procedures.
  • To assess/ recommend the time/value of the work to be undertaken for an external client within an agreed fee/cost structure and within the commercial aspects of the contract and issue quotations up to an agreed limit and LRQAs standard terms and conditions (e.g. Commercial Notice).
  • To pursue and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
  • Conduct activities in line with internal procedures accreditation schemes legislation and industry standards.
  • To develop technically other employees as appropriate to achieve effective knowledge transfer and application.
  • To contribute to internal/external client management as appropriate by acting as point of contact to effectively manage client and LRQA relationships.
  • To make recommendations based on external client feedback to assist in service delivery improvement and to help build the business.
  • To undertake project management where applicable including monitoring project progress and spend against budget and contract requirements.
Requirements
  • Shall possess a relevant Bachelors degree or equivalent from a recognised university. An additional higher degree e.g. Masters may be preferred in some regions.
  • Shall possess sufficient relevant previous working experience to to demonstrate comprehensive understanding of the relevant specialist requirements knowledge and application. Likely to have 6-10 years relevant working experience.
  • To be addressed within authorisations framework. Will be unsupervised for some authorisations. May be supervised for others.
