A leading solar developer in Aprilia is looking for a Senior Project Development Manager to lead utility-scale solar PV project development in Italy. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in developing solar projects and a strong understanding of permitting and technical constraints. This role offers senior-level ownership and growth opportunities within a well-established company. Fluency in both Italian and English is required.

We’re supporting a major, well-funded solar developer with an established and fast-growing European platform.

As part of their continued expansion in Italy, they’re looking to appoint a Senior Project Development Manager to lead the development of utility-scale solar PV projects, from origination through to financial close.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of utility-scale solar PV projects in Italy
• Manage projects from origination through permitting, grid connection and financial close
• Oversee land acquisition, environmental assessments and technical studies
• Manage permitting processes and engagement with local authorities and grid operators
• Identify and mitigate environmental, technical and regulatory constraints
• Coordinate internal teams and external advisors across development milestones
• Support handover of projects into construction and delivery teams

Requirements

• 5+ years’ experience developing utility-scale solar PV projects in Italy
• Proven experience across land acquisition, permitting, grid connection and environmental constraints
• Strong understanding of technical constraints and development risk
• Technical background, with an engineering degree or similar
• Experience with BESS projects is a strong advantage
• Based in Rome or willing to relocate
• Fluent Italian and English
