Job Description

AECOM is seeking a highly motivated Engineer. The Candidate will join the Building & Places Team, which provides services on large-scale real estate and civil engineering projects. Our teams work on complex real estate projects, pulling the right resources across the company to support project needs.



  • Lead the design and delivery of mechanical systems (including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, drainage, water supply, firefighting, renewable energy systems, and controls) for residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.

  • Manage the full technical and design process from concept through developed design, construction and handover, ensuring robust coordination, quality, and adherence to budget and sustainability goals.

  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and construction partners to define design objectives, coordinate interfaces, and resolve technical and design issues throughout all project phases.

  • Provide technical guidance, contribute to bids and tenders with planning and logistical input, and support the preparation of Health & Safety Files and O&M manuals.

  • Engage with international offices, mentor junior engineers, and foster a collaborative environment focused on innovation, quality, and continuous improvement.


Qualifications


  • Master's Degree in Technical Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Building, Architecture, or related field)

  • +5 years of experience with an engineering firm under a mechanical role.

  • Experience in mechanical design and installation.

  • Fluent in Italian and English

  • Should be a chartered engineer.

  • Cost estimating experience.

  • Professional experience working with a design consulting firm.

  • Relevant experience with Autocad, Revit, and MS Office.

  • The ability to work with, interpret, and apply European and American building codes.

  • Knowledge of pertinent Italian laws, codes, and regulations.
