A leading telecommunications company in Milan seeks a Senior Expert Solution Engineer to lead the design, development, and deployment of complex systems. You will oversee the project lifecycle and manage a budget of up to 5 million euros. The ideal candidate has an engineering degree in telecommunications or computer science and extensive knowledge of local market processes. This role offers a hybrid work model, with in-office days twice a week.

Role purpose

Role title: Senior Expert Solution Engineer
Function: Group Network
Band: G12
Department: DNOSS
Reports to: Team Lead Telemetry and Troubleshooting
Location: Milan (Hybrid - twice a week in the office)

You will take a lead role in co‑ordinating the design, development and deployment of systems and complex solutions across the European markets in line with business needs and the domains and verticals strategy. You will manage the entire lifecycle of the systems and solutions in area of accountability as well as coordinate the translation of business demand into technical requirements and identification of the affected areas. You will lead multinational working groups or project teams and coordinate independent and responsible execution of complex programmes & projects.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership

• Manages the entire project lifecycle, coordinates suppliers during the design, development and implementation phase in accordance to the Delivery Management Process.
• Accountable for effective Release Management and Capacity Management for accounted systems.
• Accountable for project / program delivery in time, quality and budget.
• Active consultancy of internal customers and stakeholders concerning system- / product developments, new market trends and potential improvements.
• Selects and coordinates suppliers for the design, development and implementation phase in accordance to the Delivery Management Process.

Core competencies, knowledge and experience

• Professional experience in telecommunication or IT
• Deep knowledge of local market processes.
• Knowledge of the OSS Solution Portfolio.
• Professional leadership competence for the decisive shaping of special topics

Required technical / professional qualifications

• Engineering degree (Bachelor / Master) in telecommunications or computer science or equivalent.
• Knowledge of fixed and FWA Vodafone services (FTTH, FTTx, xDSL, FWA 4G e 5G)
• Project management skills
• Overview networking knowledge
• General knowledge of systems architecture (soap, rest)
• General competences of cloud environment and database
• Knowledge of COPS, Assurance and Operations processes for fixed service
• Good knowledge of English at least level B2
