SENIOR CENTRAL LOGISTICS MANAGER (F/H/X)
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Logistics Manager to lead our logistics operations in Italy. The role requires a hands‑on leader with deep expertise in warehousing and customs, who can optimize processes, manage a team and a 3PL, and ensure operational excellence.
Ideal candidate: strong leadership skills, service‑driven mindset, proven track record in international logistics, and the ability to balance strategic thinking with operational execution.
Reports to: International Logistics Director based in Paris
Geographic location: Castel San Pietro (near Bologna)
Regular trips to Paris
Job Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Development
- Manage, coach, and develop a team of 4 logistics professionals.
- Set clear performance goals and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Logistics Operations
- Coordinate and oversee daily operations including warehousing and customs activities.
- Ensure compliance with Italian and EU logistics, customs, and trade regulations.
- Maintain strong relationships with third‑party logistics providers, suppliers, and carriers.
Process Optimization
- Develop and monitor KPIs to measure performance and drive continuous improvement.
- Identify and implement cost‑saving opportunities while improving service levels.
- Leverage technology and digital tools to increase efficiency, visibility, and accuracy.
CSR & Sustainability
- Drive initiatives to reduce the environmental impact of logistics operations.
- Partner with suppliers, service providers and carriers committed to sustainable practices and ethical standards.
- Promote circular economy practices such as packaging reduction, recycling, and reverse logistics.
- Ensure alignment with the company’s broader CSR and ESG goals.
Central Logistics Strategy
- Contribute to the company’s supply chain strategy, aligning logistics operations with business goals.
- Anticipate risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate supply chain disruptions (Business Continuity Plan).
- Adapt logistics footprint to the business context.
Budget
- Elaborate and monitor logistics budget in cooperation with the Finance Department.
Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with production, supply chain, procurement, retail, and finance teams to ensure seamless end‑to‑end supply chain execution.
- Act as the point of contact for senior leadership on logistics‑related matters.
Profile
- 10–15 years of progressive experience in logistics management, ideally in a multinational environment.
- Proven leadership experience managing teams (minimum 3–5 people).
- Strong customer and service focus.
- Hands‑on experience with ERP/WMS systems and logistics performance tools.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and negotiation skills.
- Italian & English fluent; French is a plus.
- University degree; master’s degree is a plus.
