Sales Manager – Italy

Biogas Data & Microbiome Services

Location: Italy

Employment Type: Full-time (50% minimum commitment considered)

Compensation: Base salary + commission

PeoItaly is hiring on behalf of an international technology company expanding its presence in the Italian biogas market. The company is a global leader in AI-driven biogas optimisation, combining advanced data analytics, microbiome intelligence, and digital tools to improve plant performance, stability, and efficiency.

About the Role

The Sales Manager – Italy will be responsible for developing and growing the company\'s commercial presence in Italy, with a strong focus on biogas plants, farms with anaerobic digestion, EPCs, and industrial operators.

This is a hands-on commercial role for a senior sales professional with deep knowledge of the Italian biogas ecosystem, established industry relationships, and the ability to build trust and credibility quickly.

Responsibilities
  • Sales & Business Development
  • Define and execute the commercial strategy for the Italian market.
  • Identify, prospect, and develop new business opportunities across the biogas value chain.
  • Present technical solutions clearly and effectively to plant owners, operators, developers, and EPCs.
  • Deliver on-site and remote demonstrations of digital platforms, dashboards, and analytical tools.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to contract closing and follow-up.
Market Development
  • Leverage existing relationships to accelerate market entry and brand positioning.
  • Act as a trusted advisor by understanding customer challenges and proposing tailored solutions.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade fairs, conferences, and site visits across Italy.
Account Management
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with key customers.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through proactive engagement and coordination with technical teams.
  • Support onboarding and ongoing service delivery in collaboration with internal specialists.
Reporting & Collaboration
  • Work closely with international headquarters to align local strategy and offerings.
  • Provide regular pipeline updates, forecasts, and market feedback.
  • Share customer insights to support product development and commercial strategy.
Requirements
Must-Have
  • Degree in science or engineering.
  • Strong and proven knowledge of the Italian biogas market.
  • Established network among biogas operators, farms, and EPC contractors in Italy.
  • Experience in technical sales within energy, biogas, agri-tech, environmental or related sectors.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts in a clear and persuasive manner.
  • Strong commercial drive, negotiation skills, and results orientation.
  • Native Italian, fluent English.
  • Availability for frequent travel within Italy.
Nice-to-Have
  • Experience with SaaS or subscription-based service models.
  • Background in biogas operations, microbiology, environmental engineering, or industrial automation.
  • Experience selling lab services or digital platforms for industrial or energy applications.
