Purpose of the position

We are seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to join our team at HIAB. The role's purpose is to ensure and develop product quality within factory functions, manage ISO Standards, customer-specific, and business quality systems, and provide results-driven QA & QC leadership, utilizing lean principles and best practices for the plant.

The Quality Inspector manages, develops, and maintains process quality functions at the factory, aligning with customer expectations and implementing end-to-end quality on internal processes.

This position will be based in Minerbio, Italy, reporting to the QHSE Manager.

Main tasks and responsibilities
  1. Responsible for the timely execution of Goods Inwards Inspections.
  2. Collaborate with EHS to address safety/environmental impacts and effects, aiming to eliminate or reduce such impacts.
  3. Lead, prepare, and manage customer regulatory audits, including ISO and other customer-specific requirements.
  4. Manage and report internal audits to management.
  5. Enable reporting of metrics for weekly and monthly reviews using statistical process control tools.
  6. Conduct audits for ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14000, ISO 3834-2, and other certifications.
  7. Perform product quality audits according to the specific audit plan and observations.
  8. Conduct internal quality audits as required and follow up on corrective actions.
  9. Coordinate MRB processes and ensure timely material dispositions.
  10. Report on material scrap and rework status.
  11. Contribute to improvements in the total cost of poor quality, including re-work hours.
  12. Develop and adapt best practices regarding factory quality processes.
  13. Support the development of project management and statistical approaches (Lean/Six Sigma).
Requirements to succeed
  1. BSc or MSc in Engineering, Technology, Quality, or relevant industrial experience.
  2. ISO Auditor Qualification (country-specific).
  3. Minimum of 4 years' experience in quality management and development, including international experience.
  4. Strong background in quality functions and process thinking across all operations.
  5. Experience in the mechanical industry and assembly operations.
  6. Proficiency with ERP systems, preferably LN.
  7. Significant experience with quality tools such as PPAP, APQP, FMEA, Control Plans, 8D, Six Sigma (Green Belt), and others.
  8. Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
  9. Drive for continuous improvement.
  10. LSS Yellow Belt/Green Belt certification.
  11. English: Excellent written and good spoken skills.
